Account Deletion & Data Retention
At Kithlet, we believe you should have complete control over your data. This page describes how you can delete your account and associated data, what information is removed, and our data retention policies.
How to Delete Your Account (In-App)
The fastest and most secure way to delete your account is directly inside the Kithlet mobile app:
- Open Kithlet and tap the Settings (Gear) icon in the top right.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings page.
- Tap the Delete Account button.
- Confirm your decision in the popup dialog. (If your session has expired or requires security verification, you may be prompted to log in again first).
How to Request Deletion via Email
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access your account, you can request account deletion by emailing our support team:
- Email us at: safety@kithlet.continuumarc.tech
- Subject line: Kithlet Account Deletion Request
- Include your registered **phone number** (including country code) and your **username** so we can verify your identity and locate your account.
What Data is Deleted or Kept?
When you delete your account, Kithlet triggers an immediate purge of your data from our servers. The following actions occur:
- Profile Data: Your Firestore user document, display name, username, and profile photo are immediately deleted.
- Group Memberships: Your user ID is removed from all group memberships, and the member count is decremented. If you are the owner of a group, ownership is automatically transferred to another active member. If you are the last member of a group, the group is deleted entirely.
- User-Generated Content: All photos you have posted, along with their high-resolution assets and thumbnails in Firebase Storage, are permanently deleted.
- Analytical & Diagnostics Data: Any associated diagnostic records in Crashlytics are unlinked and anonymized.
Data Retention Period
Your authentication profile is disabled and deleted immediately. The cleanup of your database documents and files (photos, thumbnails, and group memberships) is processed in the background and is fully completed within **30 days** of your deletion request. We do not retain any backups of your photos or profile data after this period.
